Yes ! As promised we are covering the Apple event via live blogging. As you came to know from the previous post, the official name for the tablet is out. iPAD it is !
These are the first announced features and pics of the Apple tablet or iPAD:
* The display is confirmed: 9.7 inches IPS display.
* 0.5 inches thin.
* Weighs 1.5 pounds.
* It is powered by Apple’s own custom silicon chip called, A4.
* The speed of processor is 1 Ghz.
* Comes with three different types of storage: 16, 32 and 64 GB flash storage.
* Connectivity is through Wi-fi, 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR. And yes later Apple will have models of iPAD built with 3G in it.
* Battery life is upto 10 hours.
* Features Accelerometer and Compass.
* It has speaker, microphone and 30-pin dock connector.
* In addition to battery life, it has got a month of standby life !
* It features full capacitive multi-touch.
* UI of the iPAD is totally different from iPhone and OSX.
* It has a photo scrubber bar at the bottom, which is used to flick through the pics.
* It has two pane horizontal view for emails.
*For the starters, it features apps like Youtube, Google Maps, Built-in iTunes store, an address book, a calendar and a giant on-screen keyboard. But it includes lots more than them.
* It can run virtually any third-party apps without modifications. This can be done in 2 ways: With pixel for pixel accuracy in blackbox, or pixel double and run them in full screen.
* A special feature for Facebook app: A tap on the 2x button, and it scales the app to full screen.
