a2network brings Novatel Wireless MiFi 2372 to Japan

a2network Corporation, which is a MVNO for DoCoMo, is launching the Novatel Wireless’ MiFi 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot.

The MiFi 2372 can sing along all frequencies used in the Land of the rising Sun, including 800MHz, 1900MHz and 2100MHz. In addition to this tri-band radio, the device also comes with a microSD slot for expandable memory that can be accessed and shared over WiFi link with up to five simultaneous users, connected to the hotspot.

As you probably know, Novatel is touting the MiFi as the “Intelligent Mobile Hotspot,” which they say is a new category of mobile broadband products. Its differentiating factor is that it creates a personal cloud of high-speed Internet connectivity that can be easily shared between multiple users and up to five WiFi devices such as laptops, cameras, gaming devices and multimedia players.

In terms of availability, a2network will start selling the MiFi 2372 device at the end of April 2010.
