We told you yesterday that tonight you would be getting your first look at the next installment in the most successful video game of all time via a teaser trailer set to air on GameTrailers TV on Spike TV tonight at 12:40AM EST. Today we are getting some more details about the upcoming Treyarch developed COD installment including the game’s title, release date, and info about the locations visited in the game.

We’ve learned the title of the game will be Call of Duty: Black Ops and will take you around the globe in a multinational Cold War setting. The title is set for release on November 9th, 2010. A press release from developer Treyarch released earlier today said,

“We can’t wait for our community to experience Call of Duty: Black Ops,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. “We have focused our entire studio on this game, with dedicated multiplayer, single-player and co-op teams creating the most intense, gripping and riveting experience possible for our fans on all fronts.”

Shortly after that we learned specifics for the setting via a leak from UK game distributor GAME’s description of the game, although it appears the descriptionw as removed for obvious reasons.

“Now you will witness the birth of the Elite Special Forces and take part in off-the-record missions using unconventional weaponry to get the job done,” said the description posted on GAME’s .”From Cuba to the Arctic and the jungles of Vietnam, Call of Duty: Black Ops features stunning cinematic graphics and intense gameplay that puts you right at the heart of the action!”

We will post a video of the trailer after it airs on GameTrailers tonight in case you miss it live on Spike TV.

Will the fact that Treyarch is developing, developers of Call of Duty: World at War, this installment opposed to the recently disbanded Infinity Ward, creators of the franchise, affect your decision to purchase the game?
