Yesterday we had reported about Geohotz success in getting iPad 3.2 jailbreak. If you have jailbreaked your iPhone and iPod Touch then you might know about SHSH and ECID but those who have recently bought Apple iPad tablet and has no history of owning iPhone or iPod Touch might not know importance of saving SHSH of iPad.
To prevent jaiklbreaking devices Apple has started singing firmware, so every time you restore firmware iTunes will connect with Apple server passing ECID - Exclusive Chip ID of your iPhone device to generate signatures, just for your device.
Hence before upgrading to any new firmware you must have ECID SHSH on file if you want to jailbreak your device in future. Recently released Apple iPad also possess this type security mechanism .
