How To Get Fast Access To Youtube Search In Chrome

As a professional blogger I often have review applications and tools under strict deadlines. Sometimes the user interface of these tools is not as friendly as I would like them to be. Resultantly I end up spending a lot of time familiarizing myself with the application. A solution I worked out to save time was to search for that tool on YouTube; mostly there exists a video tutorial on how to use that application.

Now I have discovered a tool that further saves me time by reducing the time taken to search videos on YouTube. This tool is called Fast YouTube Search.

Fast YouTube Search is a wonderful little browser extension for Google Chrome. Normally when I need to search for a video on YouTube, I need to open up a separate browser window or tab, head on over to YouTube, and then type the query keywords within the search field. With Fast YouTube Search however, I do not need to open any extra windows or tabs.

The extension locates an icon in Chrome’s address bar that acts as YouTube search. Like in most browsers which have a search sidebar in the top right corner, this extension provides a YouTube searchbar that drops down from the extension’s icon.

When we begin entering our query, relevant searches are selected (as they often are in search engines).

Pressing the Return/Enter key on your keyboard or selecting one of the suggested search options opens YouTube’s search results in a new Chrome tab. This way, the time taken to open up a new tab with YouTube’s homepage is saved.
