WordPress for iPhone 2.2 Released

Being used by more than 202 million websites worldwide, WordPress is currently the most popular blogging software/platform currently in use. The fortes of WordPress include a user-friendly workflow, a rich plug-in architecture, and an advanced templating system. The absence of advertisements is another feature that makes WordPress a heaven-sent platform for bloggers. Ads did get introduced directly via sponsored themes but WordPress facilitated its users and removed support for such themes.

Apart from the themes-removing step, WordPress has released numerous version updates that introduce improvements in their software and make blogging even easier. There are even WordPress applications for smartphones which enable blogging directly via a blogger’s cellphone. Smartphones for which such WordPress applications exist include BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone smartphones.
BlackBerry and Android versions of the WordPress application recently received great new updates. The iPhone version, not to be left out, has now also gotten an update: version 2.2.

The iPhone application was great as is and enabled users to easily blog via their iPhone or iPod Touch. What the application lacked however was a better way to handle comments made on a blog. With version 2.2 users can now reply to comments made on their blogs, edit the comments, and quickly see which ones are the new comments because 2.2 adds highlighting for new items in the comments list.

This new update will help iPhone users to better manage their WordPress blogs via better handling of the comments section. We only that such updates are continuously made to make blogging even more convenient for smartphone users.
