You open up iTunes, consequently slowing down other concurrently running processes; due to your system’s hardware you experience a very low speed on iTunes and utilize more time than necessary trying to find out whether or not those songs are available on the Store.

Clicking on any genre (say, Indie Rock) will take you to a page where you select the artist. You can choose the artist by the alphabet listing on top or click one of the most popular ones shown:

Click on an artist and a page will be shown that lists the artist’s biography, top albums, and top songs.

This procedure of browsing requires you to use your internet browser only. Once you’ve confirmed whether or not the iTunes Store has your songs, you can proceed to open the iTunes program and purchase your records/songs from there.
Till a lesser memory hogging alternative to the iTunes arrives, iTunes Preview seems to be the best time efficient way to deal with the iTunes Store.
