Samsung has expanded its operations in the USA with the opening of a new packaging and distribution facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The new facility, located in Coppell, is Samsung Mobile's largest cell phone distribution center in the country.
With the opening of the new facility Samsung Mobile anticipates to increase packaging efficiency by 50 percent and create jobs in the North Texas area. The Samsung DFW Packaging Center will be home to more than 500 employees.
"Samsung Mobile's packaging operations in the U.S. have grown rapidly over the past few years, and we're excited about the opportunity this new facility brings for expansion and growth," said Dale Sohn, President of Samsung Telecommunications America. "By increasing distribution in the U.S., Samsung's goal is to keep the momentum and maintain number one market share."
"We are honored and excited that Samsung Mobile has chosen Coppell as the home for their new distribution center," said Coppell Mayor Jayne Peters. "Coppell will make a great home for Samsung because of our excellent location, great services and the City's commitment to our community partners. We would like to extend a warm welcome to Samsung and its employees and we wish them great success."
