How to update HTC One X with Android 4.2.1 AOKP Jelly Bean custom ROM... Now user can update HTC One X with Android 4.2.1 AOKP Jelly Bean custom ROM.

Here is the complete tutorial how you can it. Before going to forward, do not forget to backup all your personal data and apps.




Android 4.2.1 AOKP Jelly Bean IceColdJelly ROM Details:

NOTE: This ROM is only for the HTC One X (International version) with Tegra 3.

What’s New:

  •     Flash boot.img
  •     Random reboots fixed!!! Wlan reboots fixed!!!
  •     Wlan tether now has working security network mode
  •     Added Hardware keys mapping (Settings/Display) – thanks to maxwen for porting the fwb part
  •     Removed AOKP PerformanceControl from the build
  •     Enabled back LED settings in ROMControl – almost all not working for our device, but they were demanded
  •     Fixed Taking photos while video recording (1080p has some issues) – maxwen
  •     Added MenuUI overflow button – AOKP
  •     Fixed Long Press Back button functionality – maxwen again
  •     Using prebuilt camera lib, not building it from HAL anymore
  •     Added back Powermodule HAL to the build – needs testing
  •     Added Button Notification Light option (Settings/Display)
  •     Interactive set as default governor – don’t change it if you love your phone
  •     Used Calculator app repo from CM
  •     Added a bunch of new options to Camera from CM (lost 2 days to get it working)
  •     updated kernel with BT drivers to 3.1.10 ; integrate some tegra references patches for BT
  •     Added CPU boosting modifications from CM
  •     Fixed some bugs under the hood – AOKP and CM
  •     Battery should be improved in this version, expect 2h of screen ON while browsing for sure!
  •     This rom still isn’t where I want it to be – will start to add more options to the rom soon

Installed all your USB DRIVERS FOR HTC One X through PC. Some things you should keep in mind.

1. Enable the Debugging Mode. By enable the debugging mode you can connect own android phone with PC.

2. You should check your battery. Your batter should be 80% to 85% charges. If your phone will be off during flashing ROMs or installing mods and updates due to low battery. Then your Phone will be dead permanently.

3. As, i told you. You should back up all your date. You will need it for new ROM.

4. Your Phone should be Unlocked.

Now we move forward and important part.

Here is the complete detail in different steps.

Read the all steps carefully.

NOTE: Make sure ADB and Fastboot is configured on your PC.

Step 1
Download IceColdJelly 4.2.1 Jelly Bean ROM or HTC One X to your computer and extract boot.img from the zip file separately. Download Google Apps as well.

Step 2
Connect and mount your HTC One X USB (mass) memory on your computer using the USB cable.

Step 3
Now copy/paste the Android 4.2.1 ROM zip and Google Apps zip files to your SD card. Make sure the files are in the SD card root.

Step 4
Copy/paste the boot.img file to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory.

Step 5
Then turn OFF your phone.

Step 6
Now to get in the bootloader/fastboot mode. Turn ON the phone while pressing and holding the Volume Down + Power buttons.

Step 7
Once in the Fastboot mode (on your phone), navigate to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory (on your computer) and open Command Prompt (Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt).

Step 8
Type the following command and press Enter.

fastboot flash boot boot.img

Step 9
Then, type the following command and press Enter.

fastboot reboot

Step 10
Follow the navigation instructions on the screen. Select BOOTLOADER and then go to RECOVERY.

Step 11
 In ClockworkMod recovery, wipe data first. Then scroll down to “flash zip from SD card” and press the Power button to select it.

Step 12
Press the Power button again and select “choose zip from sdcard”.

Step 13
Now using your volume keys, navigate to Android 4.2.1 ROM zip file and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Step 14
After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu. The phone will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait.

That’s it! Your HTC One X should now have Android 4.2.1 AOKP Jelly Bean custom ROM installed on your phone! Go to Settings >About phone to verify.

Now HTC One X updated with Android 4.2.1 AOKP Jelly Bean custom ROM.
