Seven Acer products were selected by the Central Bank of Russia as recommended for shipments to the bank's regional departments and branch offices in 2010, the Taiwan-based vendor announced. According to Acer, the recommendation was issued as a result of tender that was held by the bank's IT department. This is an important step to increase Acer's penetration in the corporate segment of Russian IT market, the company said.
Among the seven products selected are two TravelMate notebooks, 15.4-inch Acer TM5730G and 14-inch Acer TM8472G, and four LCD monitors ranging from 17 to 24 inches. Also in the list is one desktop PC series, Veriton S480G, that includes midrange and hi-end models.
