Adobe made it clear that they are done with Apple and the iPhone. Now all focus shifts towards the Google’s Android platform. In a blog post yesterday, Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch made that fact abundantly clear. He states that Adobe has decided to move forward with other mobile operating systems, more specifically Android. Lynch also made the it the announcement that adobe Flash 10.1 would debut at Google’s I/O conference May 19th. Followed by a general public release of Flash 10.1 in June. Here is a excerpt from his blog post titled “Moving Forward”
We look forward to delivering Flash Player 10.1 for Android smartphones as a public preview at Google I/O in May, and then a general release in June. From that point on, an ever increasing number and variety of powerful, Flash-enabled devices will be arriving which we hope will provide a great landscape of choice.
Now if you add up what Google’s Andy Rubin said in his NY Times interview, and the this statement from Adobe, we more or less could be seeing Android 2.2 Froyo also announced along side Flash 10.1. We all know now that Flash will be baked into the Froyo release, so it makes sense that Froyo would be released with Flash in June. We can also assume that the Nexus One will be the first device to see Froyo and or Flash update. Google has some top secret Android sessions planned for the I/O conference, there is now a good chance that those will now be Froyo based sessions.
