BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100 Available for Telus Preorder

BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Pearl 3G 9100 has been prepping for launch after the WES announcement last week, and looking more ready than ever now that Telus (NYSE: TU) is offering the 9100 for preorder at Best Buy locations. We had heard the price point would be $29.99 on a three year contract, which is pretty good for a brand-spanking-new BlackBerry. It should be available around May 6 in pink and black, though Bell will apparently have their BlackBerry 9100 ready on May 13, so that gives us a good idea of a Telus timeframe. I’ve seen the dummy units at Rogers locations in the neighbourhood too, so Canadians will be able to pick this thing up just about anywhere in the not-too-distant future.

If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100 has been receiving high praise from those who have had a chance to play with it; a SureType keyboard, slim 13 mm profile, 3.2 megapixel camera, 360 x 400 display, GPS, and being the first BlackBerry with Wi-Fi 802.11 n all make the 9100 a highly-respectable smartphone. There’s still no official presence in either the Telus or Best Buy Mobile online store, but you should be able to walk into the brick and mortar shop to plop down the $50 deposit.
