Faraday and Innostor jointly launch USB 3.0 flash disk single-chip controller

IC design houses Faraday Technology and Innostor Technology have jointly unveiled a USB 3.0 flash disk single-chip solution for storage applications, according to the companies.

The controller, which is developed based on Faraday's USB 3.0 PHY and Innostor's flash storage technology, is a lower power controller solution supporting SLC/MLC/TLC flash technologies, claimed the companies.

The USB 3.0 flash controller chips will be built on a 0.13-micron process at United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC).
