The PS3 will receive an update to it's software to allow compatibility with Bravia 3D TVs this June.
As part of a press release published today (read our article announcement here), Sony have announced that it's popular Playstation 3 Games console will be receiving 3D compatanility via a software update sometime before their 3DTVs hit the market in June.
The new range of Bravia 3D TVs will be available to buy in June ahead of the World Cup. In order to make the TVs even more appealing than they already are, the PS3 will become 3D ready so that it will be able to play brand new 3D Blu-ray titles and 3D games that will also hit the market shortly beforehand.
The first of these films will be the Sony titles; 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' and 'Deep Sea' and the first Sony 3D games available will be 'PAIN', 'Wipeout HD', 'Pacific Rift' and 'Super Stardust HD'. These four 3D games will be offered FOR FREE to anyone who purchases a Bravia 3DTV on launch and we have a sneaking suspicion they might give away the DVD titles too if you're lucky, but that's just a bit of wishful thinking on our part.
If you're thinking of buying one of the new Bravia 3D TVs but don't already have a PS3, then you should check out our cheapest prices for the new PS3 Slim to get you all set up and ready beforehand.
We'll let you know when the update hits consoles.
