Microsoft wants effective legislation for cloud security

Microsoft Corp, the software giant has expressed its concern over the security of cloud computing and called on the US government and the IT industry to take immediate steps to improve the situation.

The Redmond giant said that businesses require more faith over private and public clouds while moving data from on-premise infrastructures.

The company insists that cloud computing vendors should have transparent security policies. Further, the government should also introduce data protection policies specific to the cloud and for hacking.

Cloud computing is in these days, but the growing craze is alarming for certain industry including IT outsourcing. Through the technology, the businesses have started hosting their IT systems in cloud rather than outsourcing them. The data is typically stored on a server computer controlled by a third party, which raises security for the host.

Meanwhile, the company also said that about 90 percent enterprises are concerned about the security, access and privacy of data in the cloud.
